TOPPAN Ecquaria has entered into a strategic agreement with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to support the development of Brunei’s digital economy and strengthen future-ready digital capabilities within the nation.
The collaboration was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TOPPAN Ecquaria Managing Director Mr Chong Ser Wah and UTB Vice Chancellor Yang Mulia Datin Professor Dr Hajah Zorah HJ Sulaiman. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to nurturing digital talent and advancing innovation across Brunei’s public and private sectors.
As part of the collaboration, TOPPAN Ecquaria’s KAIZEN Digital Platform will be integrated into UTB’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. This will enable students to graduate as Certified KAIZEN Developers, equipped with the technical skills required to design, build and deploy national-scale digital systems. The partnership also supports applied research initiatives, digital government innovation, and efforts to enhance the competitiveness of local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
This initiative builds on TOPPAN Ecquaria’s broader regional efforts in digital capacity building, including recent collaborations with Fiji National University. Through these partnerships, the Group continues to work closely with governments and educational institutions to strengthen sovereign digital capabilities and develop resilient digital infrastructure for long-term, sustainable transformation.
